Kilbirnie School Picnic at Khandallah Park
What a wonderful day we had!
The day started with a bus trip up the winding hills of Khandallah.
At the park we started off by having morning tea and then got a chance to play in the playground.
Next we were off for a splash in the pool before lunch. Our last activity for the day was to have a short walk up some of the Mount Kaukau track to the creek where we got to do some exploring.
We had such a wonderful and busy day that some of us even managed to sneak in a wee nap on the bus ride back to school.

Ngake Hub Christmas Party
Today was one of the best days of the year at our annual Ngake Hub Christmas Party. Before the party, we made and decorated our very own place mats and party hats. The hall looked amazing with all the Christmas trees on the walls and yummy food on the tables. We got to eat lots of delicious food like cake, biscuits, popcorn, fruit, fairy bread and sausage rolls. We even got to have a glass of juice! After we had eaten, we heard bells ringing and Father Christmas saying "Ho, ho, ho"! He walked around all the tables to talk to us and handed out lollies to everyone. Rachel was dressed up in an elf costume and helped him pass out the sweets. Everyone had so much fun and we can't wait till next year!

Visit to Hataitai Kindergarten
A few weeks ago, a small group of children from Ngake Hub went to Hataitai Kindergarten. We took a copy of Kilbirnie School's book "Ora" with us. While we were there, we shared some of the stories and pictures with the children. After we had read from the book, we presented it as a gift to the kindergarten. We had lots of fun playing in the playground at our old kindy. We enjoyed meeting our kindergarten friends and teachers again.

Rugby Skills in the Ngake Hub
What an exciting term we are having! In the Ngake Hub we have been lucky to have Murray and David from the Wellington Axemen come to our school and teach us some Rugby skills. First we started off with a warm up, and then we stretched to warm up our muscles. We practised running through cones and passing the ball to our team mate. Murray reminded us to keep our hands in a W shape and throw with an elephants trunk when we pass the ball.
We loved practising our rugby skills!
